Adorno said that even solidarity was sick. But today even empathy is sick, poisoned, just as surely as if it had received a potentially fatal dose of polonium, by its weaponization in the service of the feral antics of today’s political theater (not politics: to call it that would be to dignify it far beyond its deserts).
